North Cut opened in 2014 in a former machine shop on Grand Street. We kept the concrete floor, the steel stools, and the habit of doing one thing properly. No product walls, no upsell scripts — just chairs, mirrors, and barbers who remember how you take your fade.
Eleven years in, the regulars still argue about the radio station. That's the shop working as intended.
The floor, 7:40 AM — before the first ticket
Six chairs. Zero waiting rooms.
Every chair faces the same north window because the light up here is honest. If a cut doesn't hold up in daylight, it doesn't leave the shop. We run on numbered tickets, same as the day we opened — your ticket, your barber, your thirty minutes of nobody bothering you.

Between the bakery that sells out by nine and the frame shop that's been there since the seventies. G train to Nassau, then walk toward the smell of fresh bread. We're the one with the steel sign and no window display.
